Nearly 300 ticket inspectors at Transport for London (TfL) are initiating a strike over what they argue are unfair wages, impacting bus services.
Sharon Graham, general secretary of Unite, emphasized that these workers are undervalued, stating that the pay deal offered to them is simply unacceptable.
TfL officials argued that they have made an attractive pay offer accepted by other unions, expressing disappointment over the Unite union’s decision to strike.
Unite's representative, Steven Stockwell, noted the compliance officers' demand for pay parity with London Underground staff, given the risks they undertake daily.
