TfL is spending 1 million on e-bike parking bays in London - and cracking down on dangerous parking

Dockless e-bikes have become a nuisance on London pavements, leading Mayor Sadiq Khan to declare the situation as a 'wild west', prompting action from TfL.

TfL is actively collaborating with London boroughs to create more docking stations for rental bikes, aiming to resolve issues related to rogue parking and improve compliance.

The ambitious plan includes nearly £1 million allocated for 7,500 new designated parking spaces, with the first 800 expected to be installed by next summer.

The need for improvement is underscored by existing regulations for e-scooters, which are already required to be parked in designated areas, setting a precedent for e-bikes.
