Teenage boy arrested after incident involving a knife near school in Harlow

A teenager was arrested after a knife-related incident near Passmores Academy in Harlow on January 13. The police responded swiftly, confiscating the weapon and detaining a 15-year-old on suspicion of assault and knife possession. The minor victim suffered a hand injury unrelated to the knife. Acting Chief Insp Leanne Archer acknowledged community concerns but reassured that the response was prompt and effective. The police emphasize their commitment to combating knife crime, particularly among youth, as a significant portion of offenders and victims fall within the 10 to 19 age group.
Driving down and preventing knife crime is among the most important work police officers and staff do.
Quite clearly there will be some concern around this incident given where this has taken place.
A knife was seized and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.
The response to the incident was very quick and we were able to make an arrest and ensure there were no serious injuries sustained.
