The Scot guided the Hammers to their third European quarter-final in a row on Thursday thanks to an epic 5-0 win over Freiburg (5-1 on agg), and if he were to go on and secure another European trophy, the club would find it hard to dispense with his services.
Notwithstanding his time at the Blues, Potter made a name for himself playing a brilliant brand of football with Brighton and Hove Albion, before leaving for West London. If the Hammers were intending to look elsewhere managerially, Potter is out of work and would therefore represent an attractive possibility.
