Severe delays near Heathrow Airport as 'technical issue' shuts tunnel
Briefly

Severe delays have affected holidaymakers trying to reach Heathrow Airport following a technical issue that shut the Central Terminal Area tunnel for Terminals 2 and 3. Long tailbacks have formed as a result. Passengers are advised to use public transport to access Terminal 5, which provides train services to other terminals. The M4 Heathrow Spur is also closed. The disruption follows a recent incident that caused a temporary grounding of flights at airports across London due to an air traffic control glitch. Heathrow is concurrently planning a major expansion and modernization project.

Passengers are advised to use public transport and travel to Terminal 5, where they can access train services to all other terminals.
National Highways also warned that the M4 Heathrow Spur has been closed and told travellers to head towards Terminal 5 instead.
