Emergency services responded to a suspected chemical leak in Dagenham after residents reported breathing difficulties believed to be caused by a coral toxin.
Seven patients were treated and taken to the hospital, with hazardous response teams called to investigate the incident.
The suspected substance, palytoxin, believed to be released from coral in a fish tank, was reported although not confirmed by authorities.
