Portraits of Windrush generation to be shown in UK government department following vandalism
Briefly

A series of photographs depicting the Windrush Generation was vandalized in Brixton, London, on July 3. The vandalism included slashing and painting over 20 works. A suspect was arrested but confirmed not to be linked to hate crimes. The Windrush Untold Stories exhibition features portraits by Amit Lennon and has been extended until July 24. Newly printed works have been reinstalled. Fundraising efforts are ongoing, with £7,625 raised towards a £15,000 target to support the exhibition.
A new set of photographs depicting members of the Windrush Generation has been restored and will be displayed in the UK Home Office after being vandalized.
The Windrush generation, which came to the UK from the Caribbean between 1948 and 1973, has its portrait exhibition extended due to the restoration.
