Intended to replace an empty office building, this tower aims to enhance the area and provide additional facilities like a gym and play area. However, the proposal has faced local objections focusing on its significant height, potential traffic impacts, and the need for more affordable housing options, amidst concerns over preexisting pressure on local services.
The proposed tower is excessively high. It would significantly negatively affect the skyline of the area, and be out of place compared to other buildings.
The latest scheme proposes a much bigger tower containing 51 affordable homes, out of 143 homes overall, representing a significant improvement from the low-quality buildings.
