Bexley Council documents confirm that plans for a 23 million rapid bus link between two South London Elizabeth line stations are rapidly advancing, with consultations to begin next year.
Prior to the extension of the DLR, the improvement of public transport to support housing growth in this area will be facilitated by a new bus rapid transit system between Woolwich and Abbey Wood station.
Former Housing Secretary Michael Gove mentioned that the scheme could lead to the addition of tens of thousands of homes along the River Thames, boosting economic growth.
This £23 million rapid bus link project forms part of the Docklands 2.0 initiative, which has a government-allocated budget that must be utilized by 2026.
