Part of Piccadilly line to close for two weeks ahead of new trains entering service
Briefly

Transport for London (TfL) has announced a two-week closure of the northernmost section of the Piccadilly line for critical engineering works to prepare for 94 new trains.
Rail replacement buses will connect Cockfosters and Wood Green stations, including stops at Oakwood, Southgate, Arnos Grove, and Bounds Green, during the service disruption.
As part of the upgrade, the Piccadilly line will see an increase in capacity and train frequency, enhancing service during peak hours from 24 to 27 trains per hour.
TfL's 3 billion upgrade plan will introduce longer trains by 2027, necessitating adjustments at station platform edges for passenger safety during this transition.
