Nine men have been arrested following reports of tragedy chanting at the Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester City on Sunday, leading to several charges.
Merseyside Police confirmed the nine arrested hailed from Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Cheshire, with one individual facing common assault charges.
Kian Holt, 19, has been charged with a public order offence under the Football Offence Act 1991, specifically for tragedy chanting, and faces court on 8 January.
Among those arrested were men aged 28 to 58, with six bailed, two discharged for voluntary attendance, and one charged, reflecting serious breaches of football etiquette.
