Transport for London (TfL) announced a new bus lane scheme on Bromley Road, aimed at improving public transport efficiency and enhancing road safety for all users.
The new 1,060-metre dedicated bus lane between Bellingham Road and Downham Way will allow eleven bus routes to bypass traffic, reducing journey times for passengers significantly.
Aligned with the Mayor's Vision Zero initiative, the scheme seeks to eliminate serious injuries on the road, providing a safer space for cyclists and motorcyclists.
While the scheme may cause peak-time congestion for drivers, TfL aims to minimize disruption through a corridor designed to improve travel flow for all vehicles.
