Officers from British Transport Police were called to Harold Wood station just after 4.30am when a member of station staff reported that a person was badly hurt and lying on the floor of the station.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody. The station has been taped off and shut following the murder, with a detour in operation for buses.
