One of Kelyan's friends described him as someone who would always be there for you, saying, 'He was a fun guy. He had a pure heart. He would always be there for you.' His qualities were highlighted by those who loved him.
Reverend Jesse van der Valk emphasized during the vigil that it was a 'time of reflection', offering the community a space to mourn and remember Kelyan, whose family was also present.
Kelyan's mother Mary Bokassa poignantly shared, 'He was caring, very caring. He loved to have his friends around... He was good in music, football, and drawing,' portraying her son's creative and caring personality.
Reflecting on Kelyan's troubled past, his mother said, 'I had asked for help and tried to keep him from associating with gangs,' shedding light on the challenges he faced growing up.
