An 18-day-old baby girl died after falling from a third-floor property on Horseferry Road in Westminster, central London. The mother, Zahira Byjaouane, 43, was arrested on Saturday morning following the incident. The newborn was treated at the scene and transported to a major trauma centre but was pronounced dead. Forensic officers investigated the flat while police maintained a cordon around the Peabody Estate building. On Sunday, police announced that Byjaouane had been charged with the baby's murder. She was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear at Westminster magistrates court on Monday.
