The shooting occurred on March 4 outside a block of flats on Paradise Road in Stockwell. An 18-year-old, Neo Duodu-Watson, shot 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell in the chest and back. The shooter wore a distinctive jacket used by Just Eat delivery riders and fled on a stolen moped. Two shots from a converted pistol struck Lathaniel, who ran a short distance before collapsing near a fence. Members of the public stayed with him until paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The firearm malfunctioned and disintegrated, leaving parts recovered at the scene. The gunman met an accomplice in a nearby vehicle after fleeing.
