The Elizabeth line has completed mobile phone coverage throughout its tunnelled sections with capabilities for both 4G and 5G services, aiming for enhanced connectivity.
Boldyn Networks is working under a 20-year concession, installing mobile coverage at no cost to TfL, by leasing the infrastructure to mobile network operators.
While mobile coverage is live in Elizabeth line tunnels, stations currently feature only 4G, with 5G expected to expand in the near future.
Expansion of mobile coverage is also in progress on other lines, including the Northern and Bakerloo lines, expected to enhance service by early 2025.
