Five fire rescue units collaborated to free a man buried up to his waist in a trench collapse near Bramshot Avenue in Charlton, using a 32-meter ladder during a six-hour rescue operation.
They excavated sand and clay while shoring up the trench to prevent further collapse, with support from the London Ambulance Service throughout the intricate rescue process.
