Man charged with murdering south London teacher

Gemma Devonish, who worked as head of year at Rosebery School in Epsom, Surrey, died at the scene in Nutfield Close, Carshalton. The Met Police confirmed her death was linked to a murder charge against James Madden, 38, who has been remanded into custody awaiting a court appearance.
The Metropolitan Police stated that detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Devonish’s death, indicating that James Madden is the sole suspect.
Rosebery School expressed its condolences, stating that staff and pupils were devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of Gemma, emphasizing their thoughts are with her family during this deeply distressing time.
