Detectives investigating the theft of 22 tonnes of cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy have arrested a 63-year-old man on suspicion of fraud by false representation and handling stolen goods.
A Metropolitan police spokesperson reported that on Monday, 21 October, police received a report of the theft from a manufacturer based in Southwark.
The arrested man has been taken to a south London police station for questioning and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
Inquiries into the large-scale theft of cheese remain ongoing as police continue their investigation into this unusual crime.
