A road closure is set for Launders Lane in Rainham from March 10 for two weeks due to essential safety works led by Havering Council. The highways team, in collaboration with Marlborough Highways, will install a vehicle restraint system intended to mitigate the severity of injuries from vehicle crashes. This system helps redirect vehicles away from a nearby culvert after accidents. The completion is expected by March 24, and the closure aims to protect workers and enhance safety in the area.
The works involve installing a safeguard structure which will help prevent vehicles from leaving the carriageway following accidents and collisions.
Havering Council's initiative aims at reducing the severity of crash injuries by redirecting vehicles away from a culvert.
