Major central London station CLOSED during rush hour due to fire alert
Briefly

Embankment station, a key transit hub in central London, was closed during the morning rush hour on February 3 due to a fire alert. Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the closure around 8.30 am. London Fire Brigade responders were dispatched, quickly determining that the cause was a false alarm triggered by an automatic fire alarm system. The station, which serves multiple tube lines, remained closed for additional checks by emergency services, although the exact reopening time was not reported.
This alert was due to an automatic fire alarm sounding but firefighters have investigated and determined this was a false alarm. However, we currently remain at the station to resolve the alarm which I understand is continuing to sound.
Embankment station closed at around 8.30am today... London Fire Brigade crews were called to the scene and found that the alert was a false alarm.
