Emergency services, including 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines, responded promptly following a call at 2:52 PM. The blaze was reported to be originating from ducting connected to the kitchen and spreading upward. Eyewitnesses noted a crowd of well-dressed individuals outside, while firefighters utilized aerial platforms to tackle heavy smoke emanating from the roof. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, highlighting the venue popular among celebrities.
An eyewitness said, 'The restaurant was emptied and there are lots of very glamorous people milling around outside, shivering, the witness added. They were very smartly dressed and I don't think they expected to be waiting in the cold.'
Firefighters were deployed from various stations, including from Euston, Kensington, and Chelsea, at approximately 2:52 PM after a 999 call was made regarding the incident.
By 5:30 PM, around two hours after the fire started, thick black smoke was billowing from the roof, necessitating the use of aerial platforms to combat the blaze.
