The current Lord Byron, president of the Byron Society, expressed that the society was "absolutely thrilled and immensely grateful" to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their support in relocating the statue.
The Heritage of London Trust mentioned that restoring the Byron statue would involve "the removal of dirt, grease, grime, detritus, and guano," to preserve its appearance.
