Long-standing church damaged in blaze as firefighters rush to scene

The London Fire Brigade responded to a blaze at St Andrews CoFE Parish Church, which damaged several parts of the building. The fire produced heavy smoke, leading to precautionary advice for people nearby to keep doors and windows shut as a safety measure.
Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze at St Andrews road church, which affected the ground floor, first floor, and roof. Firefighters had the fire under control after over two-and-a-half hours.
