London, despite losing the least days per worker at 3.44 annually, had the highest total with 15.66 million days lost due to its large population.
2022 was a particularly high year for sickness absence, with Wales averaging eight days lost per worker, and 11.6 million total work days lost.
The North East of England ranked second in days lost per worker at 5.11, while Scotland recorded the highest daily losses in 2022 at 6.5 days.
