The thermometer is expected to reach 30C on Sunday and 31C on Monday in London due to hot and humid air moving northwards over southern England from France and Spain.
Some forecasters speculate temperatures could soar to 34C due to a Buckled jet stream bringing hotter air towards UK as a result of Tropical Storm Debby.
Forecaster Netweather cautions that the heatwave could lead to thunderstorms after very hot days into the 30s, with temperatures expected to return to normal mid-week.
