The London Evening Standard has printed its final daily paper and will transition to a weekly edition as part of a rebranding strategy amid declining circulation.
The transformation to The London Standard comes after years of declining readership, with daily circulation plummeting from 850,000 to 275,000, highlighting a significant shift in media consumption.
Albert Read, executive chairman, emphasized the publication’s intent to 'reach new readers' and mirror the 'dynamism and excitement of London' in its future editions.
Following the distribution deal with City AM, there are expectations that combining these 'two formidable titles' will enhance reach and maintain relevancy in the competitive media landscape.
