Some gym-goers at Southwark's Seven Islands Leisure Centre expressed concerns over a 144 annual increase in membership fees, fearing it may drive them to switch gyms.
Vanessa, 62, stated, 'It's a huge amount of money. I think I might change my membership when it comes into place. It's too much.'
Luana, 48, commented on service quality, 'I think if the prices go up, they should really improve the gyms here. The state of the gyms is shameful.'
Simon Treacy noted the price comparison, stating, 'Relative to private membership, I still think it's a good deal. I would rather my fees go to the council.'
