Kentucky police reported an active shooter situation near Interstate 75 in London on Saturday evening, where numerous persons were shot in traffic.
The incident, beginning just before 6 pm, involved shots being fired from a wooded area or overpass at vehicles on the interstate.
London mayor Randall Weddle announced through Facebook to avoid I-75 around Exit 49, urging residents to use alternative routes until further notice.
Kentucky governor Andy Beshear acknowledged the shooting on X, asking residents to avoid the area and urging prayer for those involved in the incident.
