In 1936, the BBC opened its television service in Alexandra Palace, which housed two TV studios and a towering transmitter mast. Pioneering camera companies vied for the opportunity to produce live programs in these studios.
The TV studios at Alexandra Palace were the birthplace of many television firsts until their closure in the 1980s. The spaces are now featured on tours to gather public opinions for preservation efforts.
