An estimated 125 firefighters were dispatched to Ferry Lane in 20 fire engines from stations across east London. Crews from Barking, East Ham, Wennington, and Dagenham, along with Kent and Essex fire services, are involved in the efforts.
The London Fire Brigade has erected a 25-meter cordon around the fire as a safety precaution and issued warnings for residents to keep doors and windows shut due to the massive plume of smoke.
The fire at an industrial estate in Rainham has engulfed one warehouse containing multiple industrial units, with a video showing huge flames and black smoke rising from the site.
