Hospital apologises over death of boy from sepsis
Briefly

The parents of a four-year-old boy, Daniel Klosi, who died of sepsis after inadequate medical attention from the Royal Free Hospital in Camden, have received an apology and a financial settlement. Daniel's mother, Lindita Alushi, expressed that while the settlement cannot replace their loss, she is relieved the hospital acknowledged the mistakes made in his care. An inquest revealed that Daniel was likely septic during his visits, and his mother's concerns went unheard, contributing significantly to the tragedy. Alushi hopes this incident leads to improved practices for treating neurodivergent children.
Observations were not taken and we were left to wait for hours, especially on the last visit even though Daniel was deteriorating in the waiting area. He was seen too late.
While the investigation into my son's care highlighted individual and systemic failures, basically it was only one thing that led to Daniel's death - we were not heard as parents.
