Heaven nightclub closed after security guard charged with rape

Following a request from the Metropolitan Police, and considering evidence from both the police and the operator, the council's licensing committee has decided to suspend Heaven's licence for 28 days.

A full licensing hearing will be held in December where both the police and venue management will have the opportunity to present new evidence regarding the ongoing investigation.

Heaven's owner Jeremy Joseph expressed their concern via Instagram, stating they are 'sickened by this allegation' while emphasizing the need to respect the ongoing criminal investigation.

A member of security staff from Heaven was arrested and charged with rape, prompting widespread reactions and the suspension of the club's alcohol licence.
