Heathrow Airport has unveiled plans to invest £2.3 billion to enhance passenger experience, marking this as the largest private sector transport investment in the UK.
The investment will span various initiatives, including the Independent Journeys Project to assist travelers needing extra help and promote increased autonomy in navigating the airport.
With the focus on sustainable transport, Active Travel projects will encourage walking and cycling to improve connection between terminals by 2027, contributing to environmental goals.
CEO Thoman Woldbye emphasized that such significant annual investment not only meets the demands of airlines and travelers but also spurs economic growth across the UK.
