Every year since 1947, a tree has been transported from Norway to London to recognize the UK's assistance during the Second World War.
The Lord Mayor noted that although the tree may appear 'slightly flat at first', it will 'unfurl' to look 'majestic' in due course.
This year, the spruce has traveled partly by electric truck to enhance the environmental aspects of this cherished tradition.
After its display in Trafalgar Square, the tree will be recycled into mulch for local gardens, emphasizing sustainable practices.
