Free WiFi network across central London launched by Westminster Council
Briefly

The Westminster City Council, under Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan, is piloting the Connected London WiFi initiative for two months, enhancing access to public WiFi across the borough. This system allows users to connect to various public networks with a single login, tackling digital inequality. QR codes placed at participating venues facilitate easy login. The initiative covers 50 locations including libraries and markets. There are plans to evaluate the program for future expansion across London and improve the login method post-trial.
Every one of us has struggled to get high-speed mobile connections in central London, especially in busy areas such as Oxford Street and Covent Garden. That's why so many people rely on using public space WiFi, but this can be fiddly and difficult to log in to.
