The recent heavy rainfall in England, which brought as much as two months’ worth in just two days, has led to significant flooding and disruption across the country. As many as 100 flood alerts were in place, affecting multiple regions from the southwest to Greater London, leading to submerged roads and school closures. Emergency services and neighbours have been working together to assist those affected by the floodwaters.
Commuters faced continued challenges on Tuesday morning, with many areas still grappling with road closures and disrupted rail services as a result of the deluge. The Environment Agency has been active in issuing warnings, reporting about 30 areas expecting more flooding, highlighting the ongoing risk even after the heavy rains appeared to have subsided.
