Extra police patrols to continue in east London borough
Briefly

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed it will be continuing to undertake reassurance patrols across the borough in light of community concerns.
More than 1,300 officers were put on standby as a precautionary measure in response to the possible riots, with around 1,000 officers being dispatched across London.
Nearby Waltham Forest is expected to continue to receive reassurance patrols from the Met after a huge anti-racism protest was held in Walthamstow on August 7.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine said: Two large anti-racism protests took place in Waltham Forest and Finchley. The majority of people engaged with officers and complied with conditions. These events passed without major incident or disruption.
