Rail minister Lord Hendy confirmed that the new HS2 station at Euston will consist of six platforms capable of supporting up to ten HS2 trains per hour, adding that no final decisions on train services have been made.
Gareth Dennis warned that without a clear plan to integrate station sites into one, the current HS2 structure might severely limit the GB rail network for generations, highlighting concerns over a lack of planning for a high-speed rail network.
William Barter criticized the decision to limit Euston's platforms to six, calling it "lunacy" and stating that it would prevent HS2 from reaching its full operational potential.
Steve Coe labeled the choice of only six platforms as shortsighted, asserting that unless Euston is modernized with eleven platforms, HS2 will fail to increase the necessary railway capacity.
