Easier access to South Merton railway station being planned
Briefly

The busy road outside South Merton railway station will soon become safer for pedestrians as Merton Council plans to replace the traffic island with a zebra crossing.
Councillor Stephen Alambritis emphasized, 'We listened to their concerns about pedestrian safety near this busy junction and South Merton railway station and are taking action.'
The proposed zebra crossing aims to enhance safety for residents, particularly for pupils coming from Merton Park and families using nearby nurseries.
Following surveys, it was determined that a new zebra crossing would be more effective than the existing traffic island in managing pedestrian safety.
