Nikil Hettiarachchi's family home was devastated by a fire caused by an exploding e-bike battery, making their cherished memories turn to ashes in moments.
The London Fire Brigade reported that the fire was under control by 11.52am, but the rapid spread destroyed countless irreplaceable items, including childhood tapes and a USB.
Nikil recalled the surreal feeling of losing his family home, expressing disbelief as he surveyed the damage where he had grown up and created memories.
Despite the traumatic experience, Nikil found solace in reuniting with his family and kitten. His parents were initially unreachable but were ultimately safe.
