Network Rail is set to undertake important repairs to the Kew Railway Bridge, which includes replacing over 570 wheel timbers to enhance train reliability.
This operation is essential for maintaining safety as the aged wheel timbers are contributing to track faults, causing repeated delays in train services.
Simon Milburn, Network Rail Anglia infrastructure director, emphasized that the replacements will lead to improved reliability, allowing for safer train operations over the River Thames.
In addition to the wheel timber work, there will be improvements in train detection systems, signals, and track switching points to minimize disruptions.
