Debris of house scattered across residential street after sudden Ilford explosion

At around 4:10 PM on December 10, a sudden explosion occurred in Ilford, scattering debris across Ley Street and damaging nearby parked cars as firefighters battled the blaze.
Station Commander Darren McTernan noted that Ley Street is closed and urged the public to avoid the area as firefighters continue their efforts, with specialized equipment like a drone and turntable ladders deployed.
The London Fire Brigade released images showing extensive damage, including a damaged exterior wall, a hole in the roof, and nearly all of the loft conversion alight.
The cause of the explosion and subsequent fire is still under investigation, as 60 firefighters with eight fire engines work to control the situation.
