Dartford councillor denies encouraging violent disorder at anti-racist protest
Briefly

Ricky Jones, a suspended Dartford Labour councillor, pleaded not guilty to encouraging violent disorder during an anti-racism demonstration, with allegations stemming from inflammatory speech.
During a hearing, it was claimed that Jones used a microphone at an anti-fascist protest to incite violence against those he deemed 'disgusting Nazi fascists', suggesting, 'we need to cut their throats and get rid of them'.
Defence barrister Hossein Zahir KC stated that while Jones acknowledged speaking the words, he insisted he did not foresee that violence would occur as a result.
District judge Oscar Del Fabbro indicated this case falls under a serious category of crime within the Crime and Disorder Act and set important court dates for the proceedings.
