A cyclist has been taken to hospital with a head injury following a crash with a car at a busy junction in Lower Clapton. Emergency services were called to the scene today (November 11) at 8.12am at the junction of Lea Bridge Road and Chatsworth Road, where police and ambulance crews found a 25-year-old male cyclist with a head injury. His injuries were confirmed as non-life-threatening at the hospital.
Police are appealing for any information related to the incident, asking witnesses to call 101 and reference CAD 1313/11Nov. They responded to reports of the collision and discovered the cyclist in need of medical assistance, promptly taking him to a major trauma center after treatment at the scene.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area due to traffic delays, and bus routes 55, 56, and 308 were temporarily diverted following the incident. The police cordons have since been removed, and bus services are reported to be back to normal as of November 11.
