More than 320 roadworks by Thames Water in London took longer than scheduled, causing disruption to residents. Wandsworth Council demanded the water company improves services after collecting fines exceeding 500,000 in just over two years.
Thames Water spokesperson acknowledged the aim to minimize disruption, but fines of 290,000 in the 2022/23 year and 180,000 in 2023/24 were issued due to late roadworks. Council leader emphasized the need for punctual work completion to avoid challenges for residents, schools, and businesses.
