Philip Theophilou, 54, stabbed his neighbor to death in 2004 and absconded from a mental health facility in Homerton, sparking a police manhunt.
Theophilou was detained at a hospital in Croydon after being found. He had admitted manslaughter due to diminished responsibility after the killing.
Doctors stated Theophilou suffered from schizophrenia and was sent to Broadmoor special hospital under the Mental Health Act for the 2004 killing.
Police believed Theophilou travelled to the Green Park area on the day he went missing, describing his attire in detail.
