Thousands of motorists on the M40 faced travel chaos on Christmas Eve after an overturned lorry caused a significant disruption, forcing a closure of the southbound lanes.
This collision has left a HGV balancing precariously over a footpath used by members of the public below. We have looked at all possible options but the only way to manage this situation safely is to close the carriageway.
The A14 was closed westbound in Cambridgeshire due to a very serious collision, with police and fire services attending for investigations, anticipated to take several hours.
