C ars and buses could be allowed back across Hammersmith Bridge in 18 months' time, the Standard can reveal.Planning permission is being sought for a double-decker temporary truss to be placed at the historic site, so vehicles and pedestrians can cross the Thames while parts of the 135-year-old bridge are moved off site for refurbishment and restoration.
